A short video touched me a lot,
showing the work of Dr. Essam Daod. At one point, he describes what happened to
a young child and how he was able to change the perception of that boy –
instead of a poor refugee, he was a hero as he crossed the sea!
So, during a walk I
remembered the story of someone who went through a tough moment in her trip and
when she finally reached the final destination, a very spiritual person looked
at her and said: You are very courageous. At that moment, it seems she
has forgotten the whole ordeal and joy filled her heart.
We all go through
traumatic events, small or big, and it is worthwhile to remind ourselves we are
heroes crossing our own sea, we are very courageous and our story is wonderful.
It will be especially useful when the situation is fresh.
If it took place
sometime ago, you can reflect a bit not much as about what happened, but your
victory, no matter its size.
If it took place a
long time ago, you can talk to yourself in a positive manner, reminding
yourself about how you were able to reach this point in life. You are a hero;
you just need a little reminder…
